A vibrant and youthful energy radiated from the Fyodor Golan Spring/Summer 2014 show in a collection entitled 'Electric Children'. Sporting energetic sportswear through luxurious fabrications, Fyodor Golan's girls contradicted the conventional perspective of sportswear luxe in a collection that felt lighter and less dramatic in comparison to their otherworldly collections on which they leapt to fame.
Throughout, the collection explored the complications of biker wear through pattern cutting in various geometrical forms presented in cropped bombers and dresses. The boys favoured a sweet palette of ice cream pastel hues (mint, baby blue and nude) enchanted with multi-colour feather and prints, contrasted with bright yellows and shades of black. Sensuality was achieved though transparent gossamer organza pleating alongside the use of snakeskin coated in pastel to create artificial candy-like feelings of lust. The designers brought back 90's logomania with their black 'FG' sweatshirts and their collaboration with Smiley for badge bandeaus and hemlines gave the collection an urban feel and playful spin.
After seasons of strong-woman audacity, it was pretty to see an ultra-feminine and ethereal collection by Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman.
