For Autumn/Winter 2014, Xander Zhou brings you back to Hogwarts’ avant-garde royals in a collection entitled 'Your Highness'. But forget your wand; instead clutch a scroll, hold a panel or carry a scarf around your arm in case it gets cold.
Mixing tartan and colour blocking, Zhou clad the boys in sweeping high collared, ankle-length coats with contrasting diagonal panels in black, white and red. Space-age matching tops and trousers followed, with knitted crowns and middle-eastern sashes running across the chest, all paired with athletic sneakers - sometimes with fur to keep toes warm.
Oversized knit jumpers were appliquéd with school crests either sparingly, extensively, or large, worn with colour-matching wide trousers and dramatic floor-length wool scarves in hues of black, tomato-red and navy.
Whilst the combination of playful heavy coats showered in pom-poms and pyjamas may be a quirky option to wear to breakfast at Hogwarts, the most wearable pieces of Zhou's collection were the skinny suits with ankle-length trousers in understated shades of black and grey towards the end of the show - but perhaps not too otherworldly for some who desire a spectacle.
